Becky G’s Secret to Winning Two Award Shows in 72 Hours

Most reads

Choosing the perfect red carpet look takes time and thought, but what if you have numerous high-profile events on your calendar? Becky G, a Gen Z pop artist, and her stylist Morgan Pinney discussed the topic last week. Becky required a wardrobe fit for the Latin Grammys on Thursday in Las Vegas and the American Music Awards on Sunday night in Los Angeles. “Two huge award events back to back, performances, nominations, the fittings—all it’s happened so quickly,” she said after the AMAs. “I don’t believe it’s struck me yet!”

That sensation of anticipation had to be reflected through the clothing. Becky graced the stage with one of her biggest influences at the Grammys. She and Christina Aguilera gave a passionate performance of “Pa Mis Muchachas,” their hit song. Becky and Pinney wore a sleek Adam Selman catsuit to the presentation and a scarlet Carolina Herrera gown from Wes Gordon’s spring 2022 collection on the carpet to commemorate the event. When she arrived at the MGM Grand, she was decked up in flowers and polka dots, with a sweeping train and billowing sleeves.

That sense of impending doom had to be mirrored in the apparel. At the Grammys, Becky was joined on stage by one of her biggest influences. She and Christina Aguilera performed their hit song “Pa Mis Muchachas” with zeal. To mark the occasion, Becky and Pinney wore an Adam Selman catsuit to the presentation and a scarlet Carolina Herrera gown from Wes Gordon’s spring 2022 collection on the carpet. She was dressed in flowers and polka dots, with a sweeping train and billowing sleeves, as she arrived at the MGM Grand.

Becky performed alongside Christina Aguilera at the Latin Grammys this year, and her Prada ensemble was ideal for her rehearsals.

She wore a custom Adam Selman catsuit with a crystal top and pants for her real performance look, which looked incredible on stage!

The Carolina Herrera team sent us various fabric alternatives to pick from during the design process. We chose this stunning red because it felt so bold and sturdy to us. The motif is a combination of Carolina Herrera’s signature polka dots and florals on satin-faced organza. The current spring 2022 Collection served as inspiration. We believed this was the perfect pick for her clothing to make a statement because flowers are frequently symbols of power and growth.
